Soft serve 軟雪糕

Soft serve came about over the Memorial Day weekend in 1934 when Tom Carvel’s ice-cream truck suffered a flat tire in New York. He knew he wouldn’t make it to his destination in time so he pulled into a parking lot and started selling his melting ice cream to those driving by. His supply sold out over the weekend. Of what may seemed a mishap, the event ignited a business idea. Tom Carvel went about developing a formula for a soft-serve ice-cream and patented the machine that made this soft-serve possible. He even opened his first store on the original site where his truck had broken down.
